Stories

I haven’t written many short stories. But I should. I enjoy the challenge of distilling big ideas, of making every word count twice, three times. And there is something wonderfully satisfying about a perfectly rounded little tale. Indeed, some of the stories that have stuck with me the longest were really very short.

Several of my own pieces have been published in anthologies or online. I have included three of them on this blog: Béla’s Table, which is a dark account inspired by a friend’s equally dark dream; Bus Fare, which is not just a short, but also a true story; and A Match Made in Hell. Have a read. It won’t take long!
